74% Reduction in Energy Use through Deep Retrofit
A Grade II listed building in Manchester undertook a deep retrofit after sitting vacant for four years, achieving a substantial energy reduction while enhancing tenant appeal and rental value.
Due to its poor energy inefficiency, the building was at significant risk of becoming a stranded asset. A Life Carbon Assessment concluded that a deep retrofit would be the most carbon efficient solution, which achieved:
- 74% reduction in Energy Use Intensity (EUI)
- Switch to Hybrid Variable Refrigerant Flow (HVRF) and Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP)
- Increased rental value
